Hola from NYC! It definitely feels like every time I write one of these posts, I’m not in Chicago. Either this means I need to stop traveling so much, or it means that I need to write more Link Love posts.
I always have such a blast in New York, and this weekend was no different. I made a little guide to everything we did this time around, and while it’s nowhere close to as lengthy as a true NYC guide would be, I hope it’s at least a little helpful!
I think I’ve mentioned this before, but my love language is totally gift-giving. I love shopping for loved ones and finding the perfect presents for them, and I especially love to see their faces when they open their gifts! Since I love a good thematic gift, I put together 4 gift basket ideas for adults, each with a different niche!
I don’t personally celebrate Easter, but I thought that putting together these gift baskets now would be perfect timing for the upcoming holiday! They would also make great housewarming or hostess gifts. I bought all of the baskets at Michaels, and everything inside the baskets came from Paper Source (c/o). The filling for the baskets came from Amazon (link here), and I recommend one bag of filling per basket.
Hello from sunny Arizona! I’m home for the weekend visiting the boyfriend and my family. I just finished a really good book, Big Little Lies, and I know I’m so behind the curve on this but omg so good. And now I’m onto Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls anymore??)! Is anyone else reading something I should put on my list?
I’m also currently nursing a cold. It feels like everyone I know has the same virus… UGH. I usually don’t get sick for more than 48 hours at a time, and not more than once a year, but I’m going on a week at this point and nothing I do helps! Anyone have any tips? Seriously, I’ll try anything.
On to this week’s links!
I want to buy this Ikea kitchen cart just so I can upgrade it. Love the marble!
Are our future children destined to be completely useless? This article is scary but important.
It’s been a few months, so I think it’s high time that I share a new, fun easy tea party with you all. When Paper Source sent me their new spring catalog, I knew I had to try out some goodies! After all, I’m a big supporter of tea, spring florals, and carbs.
Head over to the Paper Source blog to see the rest of the details and my tips for throwing a tea party! Plus, enter to win a private party at your local Paper Source with the #myPSparty contest! If you win, I’m inviting myself. ;) Contest ends March 3rd, 2017.
Hello from Ann Arbor, MI! I’m currently sitting in my favorite Zingerman’s Bakery, chowing down on a bagel with goat cream cheese. No complaints here!
Currently I’m planning a blog post that I’m shooting on Monday (it’s going to be SO cute, so stay tuned). Since I’m whipping it together so quickly, I am in hyper speed mode trying to get everything together.
I just finished my second round of Whole30, and rounded it up along with my favorite recipes here.
Is anyone watching This Is Us? I’ve cried in every single episode so far this year, and one episode had me in tears 4 separate time. UGH, so good. I’m REALLY not looking forward to this week’s episode, though, because I think we all know what’s coming and I’m not ready.
This week’s link are kind of heavy on the DIY, but I have just found so many that I have to share them! Hope you you’re having a great weekend!
At the beginning of this year, I embarked on my second Whole30 journey. While my first attempt only lasted 22 days, this time I did the whole damn thing (*pats self on back*). If you don’t know what Whole30 is, you can read about it here. In short, it’s 30 days with no grains, sugar, dairy, alcohol, soy, or legumes. That cuts a lot out of most people’s diets, including my own.
In addition to giving up all of the above, I also gave up coffee for the month. I felt that it’s just not worth it to drink my coffee black, and wanted to give my body a break from the constant caffeine intake anyways.
People ask about my experience a lot, so I wanted to share some tips and insight for those wanting to try a Whole30 challenge! If you have any questions on things I haven’t covered, please comment below and I’ll do my best to answer!
Many of my friends have told me that their 2017 goal was to learn something new, whether it be coding, cooking, or throwing on a pottery wheel. Being who I am as a person, I immediately gravitated towards creative classes, and started putting together a list for friends to help them navigate their way through their awesome resolutions. Since I was making a list of places for creativity in Chicago anyways, I thought I’d share with you!
Chicago is just brimming with places to unleash your creative juices. Whether you think you’re a creative or not (you are), I promise I found something for you–take a peek below at the many outlets for your right-brained self, and let me know if you sign up for something!
I couldn’t figure out how to put all of my Valentine’s feelings and ideas into words, so instead I made you a some visuals of all my favorite lovey-dovey things, including a mood board, a list of DIY projects, some gift ideas of all prices, and a playlist containing my favorite love songs of all time. Enjoy all of the Valentine’s Day things! xo
I love love. Whether I’m celebrating Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, friends, or family, it brings me so much joy to show my loved ones just how loved they are. You already know I’m a huge fan of DIY projects, and this holiday is no different; I adore making DIY Valentines!
At the start of the year, my amazing boyfriend got me a Cricut Explore Air 2 for my birthday, and I haven’t seen the light of day since (sort of kidding). I loooove making new projects with my machine! For this Valentine’s Day, I decided to make mugs that can (and should!) be filled with tasty treats! I put together a tutorial for you, complete with free SVG cut files if you have a cutting machine (SVG downloads at the bottom of the post). Enjoy!
